Ladyboys in Vietnam aren’t as open and expressive as their sisters in the Philippines or Thailand. There are those who do come out. But they live their lives low key to avoid being discriminated. In 2017, gender change after gender-reassignment surgery was legalized.

Hanoi has a relatively small queer scene so you have to go to specific bars to meet ladyboys in Hanoi. One such bar is Sidewalk which is a fun place for everyone. Phùng Trương Trân Đài
Phùng Trương Trân Đài is a Vietnamese trans woman who made waves after winning Miss International Queen Vietnam in 2020. She transitioned when she was 15, moved to the U.S. for a while, then came back to Vietnam to join the pageant. In 2022, she made it to the Top 6 at Miss International Queen and even won Best Talent. Vietnam is still working towards being more LGBT-friendly. So there are some LGBT Organizations in Vietnam that aim to assist the LGBT community. Most of these organizations are volunteer-led and non-profit.
