Facebook offers new gender options for transgender users

Facebook, the number one social networking site shows how diverse they are by being gender sensitive.  They have updated the limited options of gender from male and female previously to a custom gender according to individuals identity.  They are now giving the users to present them selves as who they are.

Facebook gives the opportunity for few if not many to show their real selves and to be open about their true identity and that is not just limited to male and female. Here are screen shots showing the list of genders that you can choose from.

It is pretty clear that Facebook are working with various LGBT community to put all this things together. They even included an option to use the right pronoun that you opted to regard your self.

How to update you gender on Facebook ? You just need to go to your timeline and click on “Update Info”.

And under “Basic Information” you have three options Male, Female, and Custom. By clicking custom, you then be able to choose the gender you prefer based on how you identify your self.
